17 Million (1.7 Crore) tickets requested in the first phase of sale

Fans across the world have shown huge enthusiasm for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup as 17 Million (1.7 Crore) tickets have been requested during the first phase of sale for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Tickets. The tickets will be sold in three phases viz. Sales Phase (1), Sales Phase (2) and Last-Minute Sales Phase. The sales phase (1) and (2) are further divided into Random Selection Draw and First Come First Served.

The application for the tickets in the Random Selection Draw for the Sales Phase (1) started on January 19, 2022, and ended on February 8, 2022. Fans from the host country Qatar were highest to apply for the tickets followed by Argentina, Brazil, England, France, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the USA. For the Final Match itself, 1.8 Million (18 Lakh) tickets were requested.

Now, FIFA Ticketing will verify all applications and will allocate the tickets based on their availability and all applicants will be notified of the outcome on Tuesday, 8th March 2022. Thereafter, a deadline for the payment will also be given to the applicant for making the payments for the tickets, failing which the tickets will be cancelled.
