Iran national football team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after defeating Iraq by 1-0 at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran on January 27, 2022. The only goal scored during the match was scored in the 48th Minute of the match by Mehdi Taremi. Iran will be the 14th team to Qualify for the tournament which is scheduled later this year.
This will be the sixth time that Iran will be featuring in the FIFA World Cup finals, previously Iran has taken part in the years 1978, 1998, 2006, 2014 and 2018.
