The 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be 22nd edition of the tournament that will be hosted by Qatar. This will be the first time when the tournament will be hosted by an Arabic country. Qatar is one of the richest countries in the world and also have the third-largest natural gas and oil reserve. Let’s have a look at some of the aspects that will make Qatar a successful host of the tournament:

Weather

There have been several apprehensions regarding Qatar’s ability to host a successful tournament mainly due to hot weather. However, FIFA President rejected all criticism and decided that the World Cup will be hosted in winter season instead of summer. The tournament will be held in late November till mid-December. This will be the first FIFA World Cup to held in winter which will be a nice experience for the visiting fans.

Infrastructure

As we already told you that Qatar is one of the richest countries in the world and it has all infrastructure facilities that are required to host a successful world-class event. It has a number of high-rise world-class malls, luxurious hotels and a host of futuristic buildings.

Stadiums

There will be eight stadiums in total out of which 7 new stadiums having advance technological features are currently under construction and the eighth stadium which is also the iconic stadium of Qatar was built in 1976 i.e. Khalifa International Stadium. The Khalifa International Stadium is also known as National Stadium has already hosted a number of international events including the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup.

People

2022 FIFA World Cup will be the first such tournament to be held in an Arab country. There are 22 Arab Countries and out of them, Qatar is having the richest GDP per capita income in the world. Qatar has a population of around 2.7 million among them only 11.6 per cent of them are Qataris. The official language is Arabic but English is commonly spoken, Qataris are generous in nature-friendly flexible and approachable and they love to help people.

Transportation

Qatar will be the smallest nation by its size to host FIFA World Cup but that does not stop Qatar from building its own transportation system Qatar Airways is by far one of the best airlines in the world with more than 170 destinations around the world. Qatar has its own Metro known as Doha Metro which has four lines with an overall length of 300 kilometres and around 100 stations the metro system of Qatar is estimated to have around 1 million passengers during FIFA World Cup 2022. Qatar also has a local bus system known as ‘Karwa’ and few others means making transportation in Qatar very convenient for the fans.

Safety

Qatar is one of the safest countries in the world having a very low crime rate and the heavy presence of police and public assemblies. Qatar is ranked as the sixteenth safest country in the world.
