2019 Cricket World Cup Schedule in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

The ultimate prize in the sports of cricket will be up for grab in the upcoming 2019 Cricket World Cup which is scheduled from May 30, 2019, to July 14, 2019. The tournament which will be co-hosted by England and Wales will feature 48 ODI matches that will be played across 11 different venues.

Cricket World Cup is a quadrennial tournament which began in the year 1975 and since then 11 such tournaments have been organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) which is the official governing body of the game. The Australian National Cricket Team has emerged as the most successful country by winning 5 titles, while West Indies and India have won two titles each and Sri Lanka and Pakistan got one title each to their name. This will be the second Cricket World Cup to be co-hosted by England and Wales as they have already hosted the 1999 Cricket World Cup in which Australia won the title match by defeating Pakistan by 8 wickets.

For the 2019 Cricket World Cup, ICC has decided to pool all the ten participating nation in a single group of 10 teams and each team will play 9 group stage matches which means all the teams will face each other during the group stage of the tournament. Based on the performance of the teams in the 2019 Cricket World Cup Points Table in the group stage, the top four teams will advance to the next stage of the tournament which will be played in a knockout format.

As we know there are a number of Cricket fans from the countries using Greenwich Mean Time or GMT. So, we have decided to provide the complete schedule of the 2019 Cricket World Cup in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The matches will be played in local time which is British Summer Time which is one hour ahead of GMT. Accordingly, we have converted the match start timing of all 48 matches to GMT.

The opening match of 2019 CWC will be contested between South Africa and hosts England at the Oval in London on May 30, 2019 at 9:30 AM GMT while the title match will be played in the same city between the semifinal winners on July 14, 2019 at 9:30 AM GMT at Lord’s. One thing to note here is that London will be hosting its 5th Cricket World Cup Final.
